[ Military ranking systems are interesting to Ky when titles aren't being applied to him. He's had trouble getting people to let go of the commander title for him, but perhaps him using the uniform hurts with that as well. ]

Commander is just a general term for a commanding officer.

Ah, I see. When I was Commander of the Sacred Order, Commander was my title as well as position.

I assumed that military titles would differ between planets. I'm surprised not more so.

Is there a particular one you'd prefer beyond that? We have the police battle group -- which consists of patrol, military, and general, as well as relief, which is usually healers but sometimes people with simply more defensive skills, logistics, and then science.

I'm more suited to the field as well as logistics, strategy, and leading. I fight mostly in magic, though I generally fit in where needed.

What does the scientific department do on a regular basis?

It seems that they mostly work on...weapon development.

What we do is mostly routine patrols at the moment, but there is certainly still logistical and command help required for that.

I can take up a patrol route and help if we ever have need of organizing forces.
